About the Author

Dr. Swapnil Paralikar, MBBS,MD, FAIMER

Dr. Swapnil Paralikar is a passionate teacher and Associate Professor in Physiology. He pursued his MBBS and MD (Physiology) at Medical College, Baroda, and currently serves in the same department where he studied. His passion for the art and science of teaching and learning medicine motivated him to pursue the FAIMER Fellowship at CMC, Ludhiana.

Dr. Paralikar practices active learning strategies including the Flipped Classroom approach, and is a firm believer that good teaching comes from the identity and integrity of the teacher. He attentively listens to every student who approaches him.

Dr. Paralikar loves to make Mind Maps to enhance the learning experience of his students. He is a co-author of 'Mind Maps in Physiology' (based on and complementary to a leading textbook of medical physiology) and has also authored a 'Neuroscience Mind Maps' book. His latest contribution is Medi Study Go's 'Physiology' Mind Maps for nursing, dental health sciences, and allied
health professionals.

Beyond academics, Dr. Paralikar is a medical poet whose work has been published in RHIME (Research and Humanities in Medical Education), Asia's leading journal in Medical Humanities. He has authored a collection of poems titled 'The Other Side – poems on medicine and the maladies facing it', and is fond of the History of Medicine. He has designed a seven-theme, 45-piece Photo Gallery on the History of Medicine at GMC, Bhavnagar. His motto: "I touch the future, I teach."
